About Me

I’m Kyra Shank and I am an Illustrator. My work is a collection of digital art that focuses on character design and full illustrations that I do in my free time. I graduated from Columbus College of Art and Design and got my bachelor’s degree in the spring of 2023.

I started drawing at 11 years old. I saw an amazing artist on a website called Deviantart and immediately fell in love with art itself. After learning from youtube tutorials and speed painting videos online, that’s when I decided to make art for fun. When I arrived at high school and took my first art class, I knew I wanted to do art for a living, so I kept practicing and getting better with my craft.

The best thing about being an artist is making my own interpretation of life, and finding subjects, or interesting compositions that drive me to make work. What drives me to make art is characters, and colors. I work with bright, saturated and experimental colors and for me that's the icing on the cake for most of my pieces as well as my focal point. My goal when making art is to capture the feeling of whimsicalness and to inspire people to make art so they can find what inspires them.
